How is waterproofing performed over existing tiles?
When the building is completely being used, and the owner does not want to replace the existing ceramic tiles due to moisture problems, the only solution is a transparent waterproofing coating DRACO GARD 600 over existing tiles that will prevent water from passing into the building. As the coating is transparent the most important component that affects the final appearance is good surface preparation.
How is the waterproofing of the terrace performed with liquid rubber?
The DRACO GARD 500 / DRACO GARD 505 waterproofing coating enables fast, high-quality and cost-effective repair of the current substrate. substrates. The coating can be applied by roller, trowel or spray, and in order to guarantee a uniform elastic waterproofing, 1.5 -2.0 kg / m2, applied in two to three coats, is sufficient. Do not allow more than 48 hours to pass between coats. If more time has elapsed (more than 2 days) or you are unsure of the adhesion between coats, use DRACO PRIMO 530 and reapply DRACO GARD 500 / DRACO GARD 505.
What are the advantages of liquid rubber?
There are no joints, nor seams; it penetrates deep into cracks and pores, completely closing them. It adheres well to surfaces of any kind, even in the presence of high humidity. Liquid rubber is resistant to deformation, because it is flexible and elastic. The temperature range at which this material can be used is very high. It is simple and very easy to use.
What is capillary moisture?
Wet walls can also be caused by the appearance of so-called capillary moisture that is formed when water is pulled upwards by capillary action through porous materials. Over time, this type of moisture often leaves mineral deposits at the base of your walls which further causes stains and even cracking of the walls.
How is the waterproofing of the existing basement performed?
Basements are exposed to all forms of water that occur in the soil, such as rainwater, capillary and groundwater. When we notice on the constructed building that water has found its way through the structure, and the execution of waterproofing on the outside of the building is not possible, the solution is to perform waterproofing of the inner surfaces of the basement with polymer-cement coatings. The appearance of water means additional pressure on the structure, which can cause the separation of the waterproofing coating inside the building if the item of additional pressure is neglected. Polymer-cement coating DRACO LASTIC 150 is a highly flexible, two-component cement-based coating, modified with a polymer emulsion. The use of DRACO PRIMO 100 primer, which strengthens and stabilizes the substrate, enhances better adhesion of the waterproofing coating without the possibility of separation. In addition to horizontal surfaces, applying the coating is easy also on vertical surfaces.
How does bentonite work?
DRACO BENT 500 is a single-layer bentonite membrane for waterproofing of underground parts of structures under hydrostatic pressure conditions up to a water column height of 70 meters. Installation of bentonite membrane is possible even in conditions without hydrostatic pressure.
Pressed between the structure and the protective element of the construction pit (diaphragm, piles,…) or filled and compacted soil, in contact with water it forms water, steam and gas-tight dense gel. Active component of bentonite granules, with montmorionite content min. 80%, is located between two layers of geotextile and connected by dense stitching creates a flexible but strong membrane.
How to get rid of fungus in the apartment?
Condensation of water vapor on the walls can be reduced with a thermal internal coating DRACO SHIELD 600. Regular ventilation of the room is also mandatory. Ventilate an apartment or house with multiple open windows, not just one! It is recommended to ventilate three or four times a day for at least 10 minutes with a few open windows or doors.
Why is mold harmful to health?
When inhaled, mold spores can irritate the eyes, nose and throat. As a result, coughing, shortness of breath and shortness of breath, as well as allergic reactions can occur. Mold can even worsen asthma symptoms. Infectious diseases due to mold can occur in people with weakened immune systems.
How do fungi and molds form?
Fungi are responsible for the formation of mold. Mold most often occurs in damp rooms, on the ceiling, walls and windows, and the most common reasons for this are:
- Wrong heating of the room – a warm and humid environment is most conducive to the development of mold.
- Water leaks in the kitchen and bathroom – in the area where water is leaking or the pipe used to leak, fungi will appear more easily and mold will form.
- Cooking or washing – when you cook, water vapor is created in the air, and the walls become dewy and become an ideal surface for the formation of mold. The same thing happens when you bathe and shower.
What are the advantages of TPO membrane compared to bitumen?
The waterproofing of a flat roof used to be almost always performed with the help of bitumen, the main disadvantage of which is its structure sensitive to natural temperature cycles. This would mean that in summer, at high temperatures, its melting point would be reached, and in winter, due to the great cold, the bitumen would be brought to the brittleness phase. Above the bitumen, as a final layer, materials such as gravel or gravel, ceramic tiles, concrete or cooler slabs were used, and often the bitumen itself with or without sprinkles would remain. Also, it is important to point out that on almost every flat roof that has sand in its layers, vegetation grows. Whether it was the growth of grass or even trees from destroyed concrete slab joints, the effect of their roots on the bituminous waterproofing is devastating.
To avoid all these problems, the solution is DRACO PLAN roof TPO membrane. There are many reasons why to choose it. It is resistant to all types of precipitation and UV radiation, well withstands all temperature oscillations, works independently of the substrate, is resistant to chemicals from rainwater and bird droppings, the compounds are homogeneous, and the material is environmentally friendly.
What product can be used to clean porous materials, such as stone?
DRACO CLEAN 100 is a new generation product for removing dirt and grease. Used for cleaning polished stone. DRACO CLEAN 100 is a ready-to-use solution. Consumption depends on the degree of contamination of the substrate and the stubbornness of the stain.
How to protect natural stone?
Despite the various materials for facades, stone still holds a high place of popularity as a finishing decorative material. What makes the stone stand out from other modern materials is its porous structure, which unfortunately leads to the absorption of moisture, water and various impurities into its interior. In order for the stone facade to provide protection to the building and retain its aesthetic properties, the stone needs to be impregnated with hydrophobic preservatives. Impregnation can be performed with a hydrophobic coating DRACO SHIELD 100 or DRACO SHIELD 110 which, in addition to protecting the surface from water-based liquids, also protects against the penetration of oil-based liquids.
How to protect visible concrete?
Modern architecture places new demands on the protection of concrete structures that are often directly exposed to atmospheric influences. The porosity of concrete is lower than that of natural stone, and it depends on the porosity of the cement stone, the granulometric composition and the quality of the concrete installation. In order to protect such structures, silane-based products such as DRACO SHIELD 150 are used, which is a high-quality hydrophobic impregnation for the protection of concrete structures such as bridges, viaducts, stadiums, buildings, etc. The product aims to penetrate the substrate more than 10 mm and thus create a hydrophobic surface without changing the external appearance.
What to pay attention to when buying grout?
Modern architecture places new demands on the protection of concrete structures that are often directly exposed to atmospheric influences. When grouting, it is important to pay attention to two things – the mass should be water-repellent and resistant to abrasion. DRACO offers a one-component, high-quality cement-based grout for joints up to 8 mm wide – DRACO GROUT 150. The use of special additives results in a water-repellent grout, long life and with the possibility of mold and fungus.
WHow to seal carpentry and why?
All compounds, and especially compounds of different materials are always critical and in many cases are a source of problems with water and moisture penetration. In addition to joints of different materials, various cracks occur due to stress. Cracks, as well as joints, represent an easy way for moisture to penetrate the building. In order to prevent the penetration of water and moisture through the mentioned places, they need to be sealed in an adequate way. Due to the joints of different materials, it is necessary to use a product that adheres to all substrates, such as self-adhesive butyl tape DRACO BAND 120 or DRACO BAND 130.
What are epoxy paints for swimming pools?
All compounds, and especially compounds of different materials are always critical and in many cases are a source of If there is a need to reduce costs and speed up the construction time of the pool, the waterproofing coating can remain a final, decorative layer. Long-lasting and aesthetically attractive waterproofing coating used for pool waterproofing is epoxy paint DRACO POOL 800. The coating is characterized by excellent mechanical and chemical resistance, quick and easy application and a certificate of health. Before applying the epoxy paint, it is mandatory to prepare the substrate.
In what thicknesses is the industrial floor made?
All compounds, and especially compounds of different materials are always critical and in many cases are a source of problems If Industrial flooring is not made with a thickness of 1 cm or more, but is made in thicknesses of a few mm. Interesting isn’t it? Industrial floors are an indispensable element of production plants and warehouses, they are part of the functional unit necessary for the smooth running of the process. Industrial floor planning in the early stages of the project ensures familiarity with all the requirements for the substrate, as well as operational planning of the floor performance itself.
